North Caucasus Art Exhibition Opens in Elista

Steppnye Vesti reported that the exhibition "Artists of the North Caucasus" opens at the N.N. Palmov National Museum of Kalmykia from September 25 through October 22, 2026. It is tied to Russia's Year of Unity of Peoples.

The show includes 58 works - painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative arts from the late 20th and early 21st centuries - drawn from the North Caucasus branch of the State Museum of the East. Artists represented come from Adygea, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, Chechnya, Kalmykia, and other regions. The museum framed the display as a way to show how the cultures of southern Russia connect through art.
