A thematic family run titled "Pie on the Fourth" took place early on Saturday morning, October 31, 2026, in Friendship Park in Elista, despite light autumn rain. Organized by the "5 verst" community and the regional branch of the All-Russian Athletics Federation, the event was dedicated to Russia's Day of National Unity (November 4) and the nationwide "Pie on the Fourth" campaign. This was the first time the campaign was held in Kalmykia.

More than 50 participants, including families with children, completed a 5 km course that looped three times from the Bagatur sports club along the Elista River past the former Uralan stadium, covering scenic parts of the park. After the finish, runners and walkers shared pies of various types - sweet, savory, with meat, cabbage, and pumpkin - along with tea. Organizers presented memorable gifts to five participants who brought a total of 14 homemade pies. Local organizer Elena Nastinova, director of the regional athletics federation branch, noted that the gathering symbolized unity, comparing the diverse people of Russia to the layers of a pie during the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
