Uralanochka of Kalmykia won the interregional women's volleyball tournament held in Elista to mark the city's 161st anniversary. Matches took place over two days with teams from several Russian regions. In the final, Uralanochka defeated Volzhanочка-GRASS-YUR 3-2. The Kalmyk side took the first two sets, dropped the next two, then won the fifth set 15-13.
ArusKavkaz from Stavropol Territory took third place after beating Dvizhenie Verkh from Volgograd Region. Savar Tarbaev, head of the Kalmyk volleyball federation and the Uralanochka club, congratulated the teams and called Uralanochka a source of pride for the republic. Coach Savr Belgikov said the updated roster made the matches difficult but home support helped secure the title. Winners received cups, medals, certificates, and prizes. The event was tied to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
