Young chess players from the Kalmykia Chess School won medals at the South Federal District (YuFO) Championship in chess composition (problem-solving) and secured places for the 2027 Russian Championship.>
The competition took place at Park-Hotel Jubga in the Tuapse District. Natalya Germaleeva earned silver among girls up to 11 years old, Sanal Pakhomkin earned silver among young men up to 17 years old, and Evgenia Pakhomkina earned bronze among girls up to 19 years old. A total of 195 athletes from eight regions plus the LNR, DPR, and Zaporizhzhia region competed in two rounds of six tasks each (90 minutes per round).
The results were announced by the Kalmykia Chess School on November 6, 2026.
